…………..as much.

Obese people get bitten more than underweight people so this confirms my reasoning that I must lose weight and QUICKLY – like within a few weeks before the mozzies really home in on our mobile home as a place for a tasty treat.

Pregnant women attract them due to higher body temperatures and CD emissions as well.  I am not pregnant so I cannot place the blame on that reason.

Tall people are more prone than short – whoever thought that one up is wrong as I am definitely not tall. Obviously my NZ mozzies cannot distinguish between tall and short.

Some say if you drink beer at barbecues then I will become a definite target.  Well I do neither so whoever dreamed that one up is wrong as well.  I drink water or orange juice and copious amounts of both at barbecues.  They still zero in on me.

What is the solution then?

After the rain I need to go around filling in the puddles left by the rain to make sure no insects can breed in the water.

Ask the horse owner next door have their horses been vaccinated for West Nile and a new strain of Eastern Equine Encephalitis. And if they haven’t then prod him until they are.  Because if a mosquito that carries the infection for either of these horrible diseases bites me, then my brain will swell and not just due to boasting about the number of books  I have up on Amazon in the …..Click here for part 3 of Mosquitoes And Their Choice Of Victims

Part 2

……..all the colours of sand you can ever think about.  In my case to see Paekakariki shorelines filthy with debris from a storm one day, then magically clean and off white the next.  Camping sites whether inside a camp or just on the side of the road – and the availability of every known camping accessory known to man.  I think of the bach on the remote beach of Akitio where I spent my honeymoon with my first husband, with its tank of water that spilled out green bugs when you opened up the taps in the kitchen – quite scary to a new 18 year old bride who had been brought up in pristine conditions all her life!!!

I see all the different shapes and sizes of barbecues that New Zealanders are famous for – no matter whether you are at home or away on holiday. And our “Yeah Right” Tui signs all along the road as you travel by car.  Wondering if that is an earthquake coming as you lay in bed listening to the train going by.  Our native animals and birds.  I recently wrote 2 books of our native birds and they are so plentiful where I live right now in amongst the native Pohutukawa, known as our New Zealand Christmas Tree, which hasn’t started flowering yet, and soon will. Huge icecreams that are generously and impossibly plonked into a cone for quick licking before the sun melts all that beautiful cool flavouring.

Of course, like every country……. Click here for part 3 of #YouKnowYoureAKiwiWhen

Sacrifice – Part 2

LORD I OFFER MY LIFE TO YOU

Part 2

…………able to stop work and the two were able to be kept by the skill of Durer who was ever conscious of the sacrifice his friend had made towards their success.  Hence the painting The Praying Hands which were inspired by his friends sacrifice.

There is a poem written by Helen Steiner Rice called The Praying Hands that explains it all.

Today we are given the law of Tithing as our weekly sacrifice to help where needed.  There was a rich young man in the Bible who asked what he could do to show his genuine feelings.  And the Saviour told him to go and sell everything that he had and give it to the poor, and follow hm. There is a promise to everyone in Matthew 19:21, 27 and 29.   Every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.”

In sacrificing, there are always blessings that will come forth. You cannot take anything with you when you leave this earth, no matter how much you value it.  All that you take is what is in your mind.  It is not your house, your car, your business, not anything that you value materially that is your greatest worth here on this earth.  What is of greatest value is what you did for mankind, what you did to serve others, what you did to serve He who …… Click here for part 3 of Sacrifice

The King And I

Part 2

………..Prime Minister of Siam.  The very first of many violations to a pre-employment contract is when Kralahome meets them at the boat to inform them they will be housed within the palace when she had only agreed to come if the lived outside of the palace walls. When she meets the King he is only too pleased to introduce her to his many wives and the 15 of his 67 children that she will tutor.  The head Wife is assisted by other favourites to help her unpack and they are of course very interested in how the British dress and act.  It turns out that one of the wives is in love with another young man which is discovered by the finding of a photograph of her late husband Tom. This of course ends tragically at the end of the film.

#OneOfMyFavoriteMoviesIs Among other things she teaches the virtues of home life to the children and then the King has his own questions about different interpretations from other cultures on certain aspects of life which he calls a puzzlement.  After showing the children a map of England they start to become unsettled because they cannot grasp the idea of snow. The acceptance of Slavery enters the scene when the King sees one of his wives with a copy of Uncle Tom’s Cabin.  He likes to discuss the Bible with Anna during her free time, forcing her to sit on the floor during their discussions because no one’s head should be higher than his.  An idea to send male elephants to President Abraham…. Lorde

Lorde – Royals

Part 2

….. need for them to always be outdoing each others’ performances – predicts the lengths to which they would go to be far worse with their ‘Let’s keep up with the Joneses” mentality.   Lorde sees herself as someone teenage girls can look up to in the clean green images of the world.  It is a pity that other young stars in the limelight succumb to the adult fantasies of the world believing that that is the better way.  When really, they are just becoming disciples of that being who quickly drops that which he has tainted when their demise becomes apparent.

Her personal choice of the company with which she would like to hang around is also commendable with strong words against any adverse suggestions put to her by her manager.   Why does she need to keep such company when she is making it on her own anyway?  Adults should be put down for preying on their charges, suggesting such moves when they are really only playing to their own gross fantasies in their manipulation of the upcoming innocent young people.

This time last year she was having fun at home with her local friends during exam break just eating cake, and talking Pokemon.  How far Lorde has come since those playful memories.

I pray that Lorde will remain strong to her personal convictions and not let the influences of the world ever change her and that she continues to make her family proud, as well as the citizens of New Zealand who follow her progress.

Part 2

………. up their characters – well in my case anyway.  When we downsized to a mobile home and the day I had to pack all of those precious books into boxes and ship them out to other people’s homes, the tears fell fast. How do people form an opinion of me now that they don’t see what I read?

This past week I have totally immersed myself in the Scriptures because of the inspiration I had on Monday morning for 2 books, one of which I have published yesterday. I normally read 10 pages every day anyway before I start my day, however, this week has involved a lot deeper research.  You can’t go wrong with scriptures I reckon.  They set you up for the day in thought, word and deed as far as  I am concerned.  The other book I am rereading for the umpteenth time is The Amazing Results of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale – a book I found in my bedside cupboard – I truly do not remember putting it there – and so I feel it was placed there by higher powers for me to discover this man and what was important to him in his lifetime that many of us follow ourselves in these current days.  On my Kindle this week I have been catching up with Stephen Pierce with his How To Make Real Money On The Internet as I have a soft spot for this man who encouraged my very first kindle publication.  And for fun…………

What is Gigatownporirua

Part 2

……….people came to get outsourcing work done for their office when they were overloaded.  I had a tiny little office amongst many for whom I was landlady for businesses that were starting out or needing a holding office for their own agencies.

And I started with huge machines that required heaps of space, with a chunky box for a telephone service that was rigged up by some post office employees who thought my ideas were good only no one knew how to implement stuff like that in those days. I often giggle now at how we managed by throwing switches at each end of the phone line, several miles apart just so someone could have a personal answering service – in fact that is how I met Keith, my husband.  Another story to be told down the track.

Now businesses can offer far better technology on a far grander scale in far grander surroundings with much flasher equipment and fancy machines, air conditioning and hoards of room.  The competition has been announced by our mayor. I have watched this young man enter into the fields of council business since when he was still a teenager and seen him come up through the ranks to his mayoralty. Who better to lead the charge than a young person with an entrepreneurial mindset that offers these budding youngsters someone to whom they can look up to for leadership and motivation.

Just because someone has access to Ultra Fast Broadband does not make them someone ……….

NaNoWriMo

NaNoWriMo Month

Part 2

…….should write a book in 30 days.  You are already 4 days behind in starting, so my advice to you is to get started right away.  By breaking it up into 2000 word chunks the task is not so daunting.  Some days you will not want to put the pen down and therefore you may write more than the set 2000 words you have set yourself for that day.  My advice to you in this case is to go for it.

A few short weeks ago I had the chance to attend the Hamilton New Zealand Temple for a week of absolute prayer, and total commitment to my Heavenly Father and the work that needs to be done here upon this earth.   And by the end of the week I knew that I needed to commit to 1 hour of family history work every day when I went home.  Did you know that that is 365 hours a year that I would put into searching out my family history by that time next year?

However, I have the personality that when something interests me and I have no other commitments in daily life, then I tend to overdo and over deliver.  Sundays I like to devote time to family history work and usually it is nothing for me to get 9 or 10 hours work done and I don’t want to leave it to go to bed as you become mesmerized by what you are doing and sleep seems so………….click here to read the end of this blog about NaNoWriMo
