The Day Before We Travel Back To New Zealand

Glass Bottomed Boat On Green Island

Yesterday we arose early.  Keith and I walked down to the Marina while the others drove to save taking 2 cars.  Beautiful day ahead of us as we boarded the Great Adventures catamaran heading out to spend the day on Green Island which is part of the Great Barrier Reef.

Sea spray, wind, the threat of a small shower, heaps of people laughing and chattering in their own languages, children doing their children stuff like tantrums, tears, laughter and curiosity – all was part of the great time we had there and back and while we were on the island.

The first thing I looked for when we arrived was to find an underwater camera for the 2 youngsters through eavesdropping on their conversation on the boat about the existence of such a thing.  And sure enough I was right at the head of the queue to the first shop with 2 cameras under my arm waiting for them to open at 9.30am.  When they eventually opened up, I also found that this was where our people should be getting their snorkeling gear so as soon as I made my purchase I trotted out to where they were sitting to drag them back to the counter to be served before the hundreds of others who were behind me.  Saved everyone an hour of queuing up!!! Breakfast was next on the agenda, however, everywhere we went their hours were from 11am onwards.  I got quite disgruntled about the shops by this time, because the first ferries were arriving at 9am  ………..Click here to read Part 2 of The Day Before We Travel Back To New Zealand

We Have Reached Our 2nd To Last Day Of Our Holiday

The Lagoon in Cairns
Yesterday I spent the entire afternoon in the Lagoon resting my legs and feet and enjoying the soothing water surrounding my swollen body.  The Lagoon is so huge and so designed that most likely there were probably thousands of people there, yet, you never felt crowded because of the symmetrical design of the area which afforded many nooks and crannies that allow for small groups or even solo enjoyment.  It is not possible to swim in the ocean because of the sting rays and jellyfish; therefore the Lagoon was set up right beside the ocean for free use by the public.  The atmosphere is enjoyable with punters selling their wares under their pagodas; constant free live music supplied by both buskers as well as arranged bands; constant chatter of families and singles getting to know each other or just sleeping and reading in the sun along with the security of lifeguards placed at strategic points around the lagoon.  Many areas of shade have also been created to keep from being burned. The water varies in depth to cater for all ages, with ramps into the water for those who are physically impaired.  I must say that the city of Cairns is very organised in keeping their population happy.

Keith and I had begun our day, before the household woke, at the food markets where we had a delicious breakfast of unusual items compared to our normally bland diet of cereal and cream/yoghurt.  Once the girls surfaced from their beds, we then embarked on op-shopping, however, I found it far too much to be walking around in the ever increasing heat and humidity….Click here to read Part 2 of We Have Reached Our 2nd To Last Day Of Our Holiday

Port Douglas Here We Come – Part 2

Palm Cove

Click here to read Part 1 of Port Douglas Here We Come

Palm Cove was beautiful and not at all crowded as we are in the rainy season and everything seems to be closed down.  I must ask about their seasons here before I leave to get that clarified in my mind.  Only yesterday did they find 2 huge jelly fish with enough venom inside them to kill 120 adults. Needless to say, I was happy to walk along the sand although there is a part that is netted off for swimmers if you are brave enough to go in, knowing of the existence of such creatures in the water.

Port Douglas was a great shopping and eating retreat for us after the long drive.  I must admit I have tried all sorts of new foods while we have been here – and I also have tried out all the ice cream parlours we have come across as well.

In the evening, we went to the Night Markets where everywhere you look there is food and talent of all kinds.  The food was what we tackled first naturally with every choice you can think of being on offer.  Then we did the loops up and down the stalls watching people make things before our eyes, going through their items so proudly displayed in front of them.  Then I had the most heavenly experience – a foot spa and massage. I am so swollen from the heat and had never had a massage of any kind before, however, after that heavenly 45 minutes of my feet being so pampered, at least my swollen feet returned to their normal size and feeling for the rest of the day.

So apart from a system that is suffering from excessive heat and being tempted by foods not used to, my attitude is to heck with eating properly.  I only have two more days here and then I can go home and return to the “Healthy” eating regime!!

Why You Should Be Eating More Asparagus – Part 3

Healthy Benefits of Asparagus

Click here to read Part 2 of Why You Should Be Eating More Asparagus

………. after going through 10 operations for kidney stones.  The positive results of the asparagus therapy also showed up with the healing of this problem which just amazed everyone concerned.

Apparently this information for the use of asparagus for kidney stones goes back to 1739.

Just know that asparagus (either fresh or tinned) needs to be cooked, then liquefied in a blender for best results. Keep the end result in the fridge for adequate storage.  Take 4 full tablespoons twice a day, early in the morning and then again in the evening.  If you need to water it down then dilute it  with water if you wish and take it as either a hot or a cold drink. Larger amounts of asparagus are not going to do you any harm.  Since when did green vegetables become an enemy to the digestive system???

There is documented evidence of improvement within 2 to 4 weeks.

Of course there are always sceptics in the world.  And there are also money making people out there in the world in high positions in Governments who support medication of any kind because it is a great money spinner. Everyone needs medication for something so why spoil a good thing??? Never mind that the medication is killing the patients. A return to natural medication would put so many people out of a job so how do you fight something so huge except to start in your own backyard with yourself.

We always have a choice.

Why You Should Be Eating More Asparagus

How To Cook Asparagus

Have you ever wondered at the smell of your urine after eating asparagus?  Today I found an answer to this long unanswered question.  It is because it is cleansing your body of dangerous-to-your-body  chemicals that you take in every day without knowing of the harm that they are going to do to your insides!!!  I know personally how my friend got an extra 5 years of living out of using asparagus in her diet morning and night after severe bowel cancer surgery.  She used to buy it fresh, however, I have heard that tinned asparagus is just as good for your health.  Pureeing it and taking 4 tablespoons in the morning and 4 tablespoons a few hours before bed is a great way to see health return to someone who is suffering the effects of cancer perhaps in this case in their lungs, although I doubt that you are limited to using this treatment method for a cancer in that area alone.  I suspect that asparagus would be a great remedy for anyone suffering cancer anywhere in their body.

Take for example my findings on someone who had cancer of the lymph glands which is also known as Hodgkin’s Disease.  After a year of asparagus therapy, he was back to his normal self and proving it by a more determined outlook on his life that he had thought was gone from him.  After reading about this person, I wish I had known about this a year ago as my fatherinlaw suffered from this lymph gland cancer ……….Click here to read Part 2 of Why You Should Be Eating More Asparagus

Teen dies stopping suicide bomber at school in Pakistan

…….rather than the bad man that was needed in this scenario in order to help save a nation or in this case a village of children.

This young man was sent here for a purpose and he achieved the purpose for which he was sent here.  Great pride in having such a son was so obvious when his father, Mujahid Ali, returned from his work in the United Arab Emirates to bury his boy and to celebrate his life.  Surely Aitzaz Hasan had made his mother shed many tears, however, he had been responsible for saving the tears of many hundreds of other mothers from suffering as they would have been if he had not saved the lives of their own children.

Many hundreds of people attended the funeral of the teen hero, Aitzaz Hasan, #onemillionaitzazs. A huge out-pouring of emotion is very obvious on television and other media outlets around the world in praise of this young man.  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is peopled by many Shiite Muslims who are viewed as heretics and are the prime target of those who think they know better amongst the militant sect.  Suicide bombings and attacks are an everyday occurrence in this part of the country. Today they can be proud of a “young person with heart-stopping courage,” giving all of Pakistan a positive image of a 17 year old who gave his life for his classmates.

#onemillionaitzazs Aitzaz Hasan – Hero

Pakistanis can be very proud of a brave young man who realised his dream of many years upon his death, thus achieving hero status for what he had accomplished in his short life.  It so happened that he was running late for school that fateful morning of the greatest achievement of his life, when he saw a suicide bomber hanging around the entrance to the school building that he attended every day.

He gave chase to get him away from injuring his fellow pupils and beloved teachers who were spending their own lives teaching him to stand up for what he believed in, guiding him to become the man that he was that very day.  The potential suicide bomber realised he had been caught in the act and ran away from what he had set out to do, when he must have remembered his own goal that he had embarked upon that same morning, so he turned, and pulled the plug on his self-detonating equipment and blew himself up as well as the hero chasing him to never more see another morning on the earth that as young as they both were would never set foot upon again.

The entire country, in particular the northwest of Pakistan has known violence for many years.  17-year-old Aitzaz Hasan, #onemillionaitzazs,  lived in a remote village called Hangu situated in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  His father only had great praise for his son, although naturally his mother mourned for the loss of him.  He was known ……..Click here to read Part 2 of #onemillionaitzazs

Zimbabwe

8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime, Zimbabwe

Right now Robert Mugabe is unshakeable in his thinking; in his rape of his own country for his own personal needs, however, a man can only live a certain amount of years upon this earth and when the end has caught up with this unscrupulous leader of a great nation, then Zimbabwe could end up a fantastic tourist hotspot and return to be the jewel of Southern Africa as it was meant to be.

Iran

8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime , Iran

Travelers to Iran are already finding this country safe, very friendly and cheap as regards accommodation and travel.  New governments with less extreme views are tantamount to achieving success in new ventures and what better new venture could be encouraged than to make the place attractive for the tourist industry.  We as human beings are inherently curious in all our endeavours.  To see and be part of another country previously isolated from the world because of violent thinking dictatorial leaderships will most likely bring Iran to the forefront of travel brochures all around the world.

Ukraine

8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime, Ukraine

Once ensconced behind the Iron Curtain, Ukraine is now emerging as the place to go.  Business ventures are coming out of Ukraine especially in the online business world, as experienced Internet Marketers make their way to the shores of the Ukraine to educate the people there as to what is possible if you open up your mind and allowing your thinking to think big enough. The party scene in Odessa is already becoming widely known along with the charm of the old buildings and cobblestone roads of Lviv.  Yes, Tourists will enjoy their stay in the Ukraine.

Mexico

8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime, Mexico

If you put aside what is currently happening in this country and look at Mexico as an emerging tourist destination for its nightlife, beaches, culture, history and food, then get ready to see this part of the world soon become THE attraction for tourists from all over the world.  Besides being the 10th largest oil producer in the world, as well as the largest producer of silver, Mexico is fast becoming one of the world’’s largest economies.  It was once known as New Spain and once this new country had won its independence from Spain itself, the new name of Mexico was adopted taken from the name of it’s capital – Mexico City.   Evidence of ancient Aztec architecture and culture going back to 1524 marking its history alone is enough to be an attraction.

Cambodia

8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime, Mexico, Cambodia

This country up till lately has not been on the priority list for tourists due to its recent past history of landmines, incidents of genocide and Pol Pot, however, as with all regimes, with the upcoming, younger more educated youth coming through with their more modern thinking on how to do stuff, the temples of Angkor are attracting a growing number of thousands of visitors on an annual basis. The punk rock band Dead Kennedys also played a big part in turning the heads of the Cambodians to a more civilized nation.  It seems they started a tourism revolution with their hit song Holiday In Cambodia.  Pretty soon afterwards, the country went from a no-go zone into recovery mode and now the backpackers are leading the way to more sophisticated tourism.

8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime

Tourism

I looked up what is happening here in New Zealand on our news channel this morning and came across this interesting article worth sharing.

It is so fascinating being an author because it is like being a teacher.  If you want to know something about  something, then teach a lesson on it to someone else or in my case write a book!!!  People are always asking me what I write about and it is getting that way that I can’t really answer them anymore.  I just know that I have so much to learn and so much to say and putting it all down on paper or in our case – on my blogs or into an  ebook – helps me acquire more knowledge every time.

I actually thirst for knowledge right now if there could be such a thing.  I get so excited about stuff and how it works, or where it is, or what it is for.  When I am out walking, I have ideas constantly swirling around in my head and I think, “I could look that up!” and away I go with some other outline for another book on a totally unrelated topic to the one I have just completed.

Yesterday I actually came to the conclusion that I have a lot to say and who knows how many seconds I have left on this earth in which to express my thoughts and opinions on things – I had better get cracking and write to my heart’s content because let’s face it – ….Click here to read Part 2 of 8 Places Worth Visiting During Your Lifetime.
