This is the information gathering era – what exactly do you want to know about your customers? When do they open their emails for example? Why and how many unsubscribe at what part of the journey? How many of your messages reach the person you intended to reach? Your new software should be able to read all of this data and put it into some form that is easy for you to pick up on in all areas at the click of a button.
Noone likes going onto a site and coming across a problem and there is no support button or contact me link. If you want quality – then customers will judge you on the quality of the support that you are willing to give them. Email blast software should not assume that it does not fit within this category. I personally like live chat because it is instant. However, there are other ways of being able to give support through making sure that your contact details are
easily visible somewhere on your site.
The next thing would be price. This special software does not come cheap, as there is a lot of work that goes into building exactly what you need, therefore being fair with your estimation of costs should also be a consideration. What is your budget allowing you to invest in such software? Your future business is going to depend on what comes about at this final transaction. Email is still the most popular way of keeping everyone informed. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Being able to target suitable audiences per email campaign on a specific basis should include being able to recognise where your audience is in the world and to also be able to recognise exactly what their past behaviour as consumers has been.
The ability to create email messages that really capture the imagination of the receiver would be another requisite. Visual contact is what appeals to the eye of the beholder nowadays, therefore the importance of images and links has to be high on your list as well. People like to touch things and be able to interact with stuff – this is what the me-me-me generation is all about. Being able to say, “I did this!” and, “I saw that!” is so important to them. Even though the emails are still being sent out as text only or HTML messages, giving your customers the seeming ability to control the creation of such messages is where it is at with them. Don’t forget that greatest of all tools – the Preview button – a tool that is so important as well. Once any of us have created something we all like to see just what it is that we have created – and your email campaign software should have all of the above in the editing toolbox.
If you are a charts and graphs person, then having in your possession the best email campaign software available, should also include being able to capture everything you need to know about each one of your customers.
Email Campaign Software is so sophisticated these days that by making efficient use of it will extend your reach to the actual phones and/or desktops of all customers whether they be past or future. What you send out has to be significant and should be planned sufficiently well that your new and existing customers will feel a certain loyalty to you – in achieving this purpose you will then be able to pretty much guarantee repeat orders on a regular basis. Getting feedback from those same customers would also provide you with priceless data that will see your future campaigns being better informed and better received.
If you wish to rid yourself of the extra cost of an email advertising firm especially set up for that purpose, then looking around for software that is the best on the market would be a great way to go forward. Once you find what you are looking for and apply it to your site, then even the newbies who really do not as yet know what they are doing, should be able to follow the simplicity of it all and use their drag and drop skills to enhance their own email campaigns.
Some features to look for when assessing the best email campaign software available should include the basic step of easily and efficiently compiling a list of clients and customers. Importing and uploading existing lists would be the first essential key to contact management.
Purchased and rented lists are not advisable. Opt in email lists are the way to go because you need your offer to be seen by many pairs of eyeballs at once – this is where bulk email lists come in, however, you don’t want to be spammed either by just anyone who thinks they have your email from some source or other and that seemingly gives them permission to send you unwanted email. The term for this is unsolicited bulk email or spam in the greatest sense of the word. Opt in email lists are typically an option to receive bulk emails, or in other words many emails that are sent off to many people all at the same time. These may come to you perhaps in the form of a newsletter, advertising or just through a mailing list.
If you are going to succeed online as an Internet Marketer, you need traffic, therefore finding some way of getting traffic to your website should in my opinion be on the top of your list of things to do. It doesn’t matter whether your product is the best thing since sliced cheese, if you have no traffic coming to see what it is you are offering, then no sales suggests a rather bleak future for you. Targeted traffic spells success – this is why people come to your site because they have a particular reason to be there. If you can get yourself on to as many opt in email lists as you can, then this type of traffic is exactly what you need.
Most safe lists and mailers that I work with require you to confirm that you do want to join and do business with them. I think this is a great system because you have the option to choose. Often we get caught up in the hype of things when we come across a site or someone sends us a link – the front page advertisement promises so much and you think, “Yes, why not?” So you register your name and email and away it goes to online land and you are left with a blurb telling you must confirm your email before you can start to use the site. If you are busy at the
time, maybe surfing or reading emails, or get distracted, then it sometimes happens that you will not immediately confirm your readiness to participate. Perhaps you leave your emails till later in the day and do them all at once. Sometimes you forget if you leave it too long. This system is using a double optin email system. You register on site, then you need to go to your inbox and click an activation link that will confirm your willingness to keep going forward with that site.
Some sites take you to a thank you page. Personally, I like to use the Aweber double optin email method – they have a voice activated page that asks you to go to your inbox and confirm your registration.
It’s a safety valve for both you and the safe list or mailer.
Going from left to right I start pasting in my entire email text file into each site. On the way back I cut the subject and enter that into each subject line. Then going forwards again, I cut the URL and post that into the URL section. I then come back and type in how many credits to send to; I check the left hand options and then I click send. Upon reaching the end I go back to the one I started with and confirm each tabs site. After confirming all the sites, I verify the email has been sent by clicking on Sent Mail. Once I am satisfied all have gone then I close all the tabs and go to the next divider in my folder. This way you definitely keep track of when to send emails and when not to, how many credits you have left on each site reminding you of when to get more.
This is all part of organizing and managing all your safe lists and it all contributes to saving
you time and when you are a busy mother or father at home, you need all the time savers you can make for yourself, not just to focus on another aspect of your business, but also to help keep you in line with what is going on around you in your area of responsibility at home.
Working from home can be a great thing – so long as you don’t waste time.
Everyone organises and manages their safe lists differently . Everyone has their own system. Some people solely use digital records to keep themselves abreast of the information needed to be able to use the different safe lists in an efficient way. Others use a write it in the book method. Using this system you would have a ring binder with dividers between fresh pages for each record you wish to keep. You can get columned paper to put in your ring binder which would make the drawing of the columns easier for you. Dividers could be set up as :
Name of site
Scheduled day be it hours, daily, etc.
Number of credits you have left
Max number of credits allowed per mailing
Date email sent
Using a Password manager would be a great help. On my computer I have set all of my sites up in groups to allow me speed and efficiency. And the logins are automatically set up so I don’t even have to think about it. What I do at this point is select a group e.g. the group that allows me to post daily. I then open them all up as tabs along the top. Depending on which group I am in, I could have maybe 20 tabs open at the same time. Once they are all opened I make sure I am at the members area where I can send emails. I have my email that I want to send out ready in a text file which I copy……..see part 2 tomorrow
As I mentioned earlier, I do own 2 safe lists myself and they are really good sites attracting great people – some very well known experienced marketers from all over the world in fact.
I am also a member of multiple safe lists. After all, I need my offers to be seen by as many people as I can and my RedStagMailer is still limited in numbers although we have grown to more than 2200 members who are willing to receive our mailouts just in the short space of time since we began.
Even with 2 sites though, it’s still not enough people reading what I have to offer. Therefore, its an easy choice to become part of multiple safe lists and mailers because it is all a numbers game. We all know that no matter how many emails you send out, not everyone is going to read that email. We are all guilty of not having the time, or worse still – choosing not to read all of our emails in our inbox, therefore the more you send out, the better odds you have of being read.
Every day new safe lists are being created. Every day I get offers from people wanting me to be part of their site simply because of the quick responsive growth we have shown with RedStagMailer. It’s great to be part of other safe lists because we all have our own rules, you meet other great people, and the more sites you belong to, the more likely your response rate will be more positive.
What is important to remember is that having one or being part of one, a Safe List is the way to
go. There are many free safe lists. Everyone has their own rules. While free is okay to start with, upgrading is a better option normally because there are usually many more advantages to being part of a safe list when you actually raise yourself to a higher level within that site. Freebies are great to get you into the store. Look at all the specials advertised in the local rags for your local supermarket.
Bread at $1 a loaf – of course you will be in to get that, however, while you are inside the store, you do notice other things that you need on your inevitable journey up and down the aisles. It is the same for a safe list site. Freebies are offered, however, while you are there, you will notice that if you pay this much either as a monthly, annual or lifetime upgrade, you can then have access to better and far more services.
In saying that, there are many free safelists who will provide extras as well. I’m just mentioning this here in my article because if you are or have ever been in business, you do not make money from giving everything away for free. Your existence in business is shortened if you continue to have this attitude. Therefore some means of making money has to be offered at some point in time. By all means start out free, but then raise yourself up.
Did you know that there are more websites on the internet than there are people on the entire earth today? Amazing isn’t it. The world has transformed itself into an information society whether you agree with it or not. And you have to keep up otherwise you will be left behind and who wants to be way back there in the dark and uninformed?
So just how does one keep up with what’s going on? Joining a Safe list is a great way to keep up. Every day, someone has something to say about something or somebody in one form or another. Every day, you can get emails from all over the world telling you about various things that are going on right under your nose. Emails telling you where to find stuff, who to do business with, what is going on that is great (or sometimes bad). Safe lists are the most cost effective way for thousands of people to see what it is you are all about in your offer. In order to get your share of the Internet Marketing Traffic, joining a safe list is my recommendation.
There are many out there. I can offer you two really good ones just because I own them both. But then I am also a member in many safe lists because it’s all in the numbers – and when you have something worthwhile to offer someone, then you need to get your offer in front of as many eyeballs as you can – preferably all at the same time.
